I have gotten my build to post today, and I want to try Ubuntu 13.04 64bit desktop version. Since my new build doesn't have an optical drive, I want to install via flashdrive, installed from my laptop, which I am using now.
When I try to download the .iso image, it take ~25 min, and I had to restart it several times already because the only place it is allowing me to download to, after it has finished, is my (Fdrive), which is my dvd drive, and no other options. Not even desktop! Can someone shed some light on this for me please?

If you have the entire ISO downloaded, go here:

Not sure about Ubuntu specifically, but I do know that with OpenSUSE, there is a separate utility and procedure to go through to make a USB flash drive suitable for boot and install.

I found this while doing a quick Google search: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/FromUSBS...

I am not sure why it would do that unless default save path for ISO image is defaulting to dvd. I haven't come across that before. Unless you double click to execute it.

Here is 13.10 64 download with directions... maybe a read through for something you missed ?

Best way to download is torrent so that if you get interrupted it doe not get corrupted. Then use a burning program such as unetbooin to burn the image to USB.
