I need help updating my bios. I recently went ahead and re seated all my components and tightened up my cables inside my computer, after finishing, I went to go boot my computer and it wouldn't pass post. After hours of working on it, I finally took out the cmos and left it over night. Got up in the morning to check if it was working... It wasn't. So I messed with my ram again and it apparently doesn't want to read slot 2 and 4 of my ram slots. After a ton of research someone let me know that I should try updating my bios. I am not positive on how to do that. I have tried to no result so here I am.

Bois Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. 2102. 6/17/2010 (I have tried looking on their website, couldn't find what I needed. A link and specific instructions would be nice

Specs
AMD Phenom(Tm) II X4 965 processor- Clocked at 3400 Mhz

Now that my two ram slots aren't working, 8 gigs of sniper G.skill memory

Windows 7 Home premium Sp1 build 7601
Thanks to anyone that can help.

Hi,
Go here, https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M4A79XTD_EVO/#support
Click 'Manual & Documents' Select your oprating system & download the appropriate manual(language) Section 3.2 tell how to update the bios
(I'd use the USB version)

Fom the 1st page, select Drivers & tools, click on the '+' in front of bios to expand & download the bios you want (The latest?)

Are you sure this will fix your problem? Even though Asus seems to have a recovery mode for Bios, it has the potential to brick you motherboard.
