Hi,
I'm looking for some help/insight on the better method to fix scratches on CD's/DVD's. In moving, some of my disc's were slightly damaged...light scratches...some enough to cause missing data/skips.

In reading the info on the net, there seems to be 2 schools of thought.
1. Inside-out perpendicular to the rotation.
2. Circular.

There are several devices on the market, most simply rotate the disc to clean it. I found only one that moves in/out from center to rim.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

In and out center to rim. Just the way you wipe them with a non lint producing cloth. This is because grooves that are circular make it harder to read subsequent pits and valleys. inside to outside the laser can bounce over them easier. Think speed bump vs dirt road full of potholes.
