I think we all know that the video card prices for radeons have been a bit high these days due to mining but i've been following the card prices every now and then just because and now im starting to see them near msrp if not a bit above (280x for around 340). I've been trying to figure out why but can't find anything solid googling it. Does anybody know why?

Solution
It is becoming less profitable to mine on GPU's now ASIC are taking over and the difficulty mining most is well past what most people spend on electricity for cards hence the ASIC. The ASIC are also faster at mining.
