So I have an hp m8400f and I just recently (or at least I think) blew the graphics card. I say I think because it I had Kerbal space program open and my dad had a bunch of windows open and he said the screen froze and then the no signal message displayed on my monitor. It currently has the nvidia 8500 gt but he wants to be able to run a dual monitor setup. That's is really my only requirement. Not looking to spend $500 but I don't mind a couple hundred. Here is a link to the other specs,

Well i think its time for a upgrade anyways (kinda a old card) if you're wanting to upgrade your video card, what PSU do you have so we can tell if you need to upgrade for a better card or not?

For a PC this old it wouldnt be worth getting a Bells and whisltes new card and new PSU, Hell for £35 he could pick up a second hand HD7750, no power connectors needed and 3 screen support, job done ?

Get a second hand HD7750 from ebay, probably pay £35-£40. Will work with your old PC, no extra power connectors needed and supports 3 screens. You could even play some games! I was playing Skyrim and Far cry 3 on mine a few months back before building a new unit. (Itwas almost identical spec to your HP)

Make sure you get one with Eyefinity, majority have it, very few don't!

Cheap cheerful and easy peasy to install. Not woth spending £200 on a new Graphics card with such an old PC.
