I just changed out my gpu, my headset got unplugged, I plugged it back in turned on the pc installed the new gpu drivers and started gaming, the sound was not working right. I could hear certain sound but not others, I was playing csgo and I could hear the gunshots but not footsteps or the sound of my gun reloading, opened itunes to see if it was just the game and played a song, I can hear the music (mostly) but not the lyrics the voice is too low and discombobulated, went on youtube and its much of the same.... any ideas? oh and fyi it sounds normal when I "test" the device in playback devices.

Are u using the upfront headphone jack on the computer case? Often times the wire that connects the computer case jack to the motherboard is next to the gpu. Perhaps u knocked it loose. Look at your board to find the audio header and then wiggle the connector to make sure it is fully seated.

Another idea is to check the control panel then sound to make sure your headphones are the default device. Perhaps the gpu driver changed the default to the audio built into the gpu.

was using the rear, switched to the front same issue then was messing around with the jack (spinning it) and the sound was slightly getting better, then I pulled it out halfway and now its working fine... I think I just messed up the male jack on the headphones must of yanked em out when pulling the pc out change the gpu.

nvm its not working fine.... after a few minutes started to get a crackling noise every once in a while and the sound cuts off for fractions of a second hopefully its an issue with the headphones and not the pc jacks
