This issue is driving me mad, tried everything I can Google and still nothing. When I have ipv6 enabled on my router my computer connects to the internet fine with the occasional ipconfig /renew. But when I disable it on the router, my computer refuses to see the outside internet. I've tried everything from power cycling both the computer and router, even upgraded the router firmware and rest the router. Nothing. I know the internet is working because other computers on the network can connect to the internet.

My PC: custom built running Windows 7 64-bit

Router: RT-N66U with tomato shibby 116 build.

I could re-enable ipv6, but that starts causing more problems to the other computers and devices on the network.

Already tried updating both the pci and on board network drivers to different ones, didn't work. It's getting an ipv4 address from the router DHCP, but something is blocking the computer from communicating with the router further. When I ping the router, I get all packets lost.

I'm fairly sure it was giving the router ip 192.168.1.1, Can't double check at the moment because I'm at work. Will double check that when I get home. If It's correct I'm gonna try going back to the factory firmware for the router, see if It's a problem with tomato.

Just restored the RT-N66U firmware back to the latest ASUS version. Seems to have done the trick so far. Will update this if it does go down again in the near future.
