so, I just replaced two XFX Radeon 7770 Core Edition Graphics cards which I crossfired, for a single XFX Radeon R9 290X
The Single Card is pretty solid, but I can notice a slight performance decrease in graphic intensive moments now and then (or it could be because Drunken Robot Pornography just hadn't gotten this intense yet)
whatever it may be, I do notice some hiccups here and there in performance since the switch, and I realize its likely because I'm putting forth all the stress to a single card rather than two cards sharing the load.
Anyways, I have a couple of questions
I notice that the R9 does not have a conventional cross fire slot like previous cards used to (Meaning can't use my crossfire bridge cable), I think this card simply crossfires by the PCIE slot and the power cables that are fed to it (correct me if I'm wrong).
the other thing is, I was considering keeping one of my old cards to possibly crossfire the R9 and a 7770, but I don't see that as possible, nor do I think it would work...
the other thing is, would a 950Watt power supply be enough to power two of these power hungry monsters, or would I require a higher watt power supply?
Hope to hear soon!
