Included a monitor as nobody plays games at that resolution anymore except on a laptop. Join the 21st Century and game on 1080p. This setup should have you running those games you mentioned on very high settings, particularly BF4 with mantle support.

the 770 is MUCH stronger than the 270x, and the 760.
the FX 8350 OC'd will do much better in BF4 and crysis 3 since they both tout their multicore support, and once mantle is fine tuned we should see even more gains on that end.
Far cry 3 isnt that intensive and will run just about the same on the i5 and the 8350.
very fewer older games will have significant preference for the intel, like mincecraft or other games that use one or two cores, or have really poor multi core support. Remeber the i5 4440 only has about 23-25% better single core performance against the FX 8350 (and it has 8 vs 4). its the i5 4670 thats about 47-50% better in single core. OC the 8350 and compared the i5 4440 its even better (probably closer to 20% better single core vs 25% at stock). Games are more GPU bound than CPU bound.

My computer has an FX 8320. its the green bar, and i set it to stock before benchmarking. so the FX 8350 will be even better.
pcpartpicker lost the price on the HDD. If you dont have spare HDD's you can cut the Sabertooth down to an M5A99Fx PRo 2.0 and get storage with that.

Nice benchmarks Beezy. Interesting to see that the i5 4440 only just beats my 4 year old i7 940XM overclocked to 3.1Ghz. I can get 6150 in CPUMark. Seems like Beezy has a good point, although the FX 6300 would be an equally good choice, allowing you to spend more on GPU and monitor, but I'd still lean towards an AMD GPU despite the inflated price (which hopefully should be on its way down). Crytek, Square Enix and others just announced support for Mantle, on top of pretty nice gains on BF4 and Thief.

HD 7870 Ghz i know it has graphics core next support so it works with mantle (despite what a lot of other people have said). Just doesnt work well, lol. I enabled mantle on thief and was getting dips into 11 fps, but max of 63 fps. When going back to DX11 i stay at 22 fps dip, but better average, and slightly lower max fps of 61. mantle for me was a performance hit, until it gets more updates.

Well i use 1366 x 768 on a 32" VIZIO HDTV and im very happy with it. less stressful on the GPU too, so i get better frames in all games. 1080p is much crisper, you can tell when you have it right next to the 768 x 1366.. you will notice. otherwise it will look great. what is the inches size of the monitor?
i prefer gaming on 720p at bigger screen size (with my 360 usb controller) over my 23" Acer 1680 x 1050 monitor (MUCH closer to 1080p resolution). They sit one by the other, generally used in 3d modeling, with a video tut on one and working on the other.

the 770 is MUCH stronger than the 270x, and the 760.
the FX 8350 OC'd will do much better in BF4 and crysis 3 since they both tout their multicore support, and once mantle is fine tuned we should see even more gains on that end.

Do i need new monitor ?
Well i use 1366 x 768 on a 32" VIZIO HDTV and im very happy with it. less stressful on the GPU too, so i get better frames in all games. 1080p is much crisper, you can tell when you have it right next to the 768 x 1366.. you will notice. otherwise it will look great. what is the inches size of the monitor?
i prefer gaming on 720p at bigger screen size (with my 360 usb controller) over my 23" Acer 1680 x 1050 monitor (MUCH closer to 1080p resolution). They sit one by the other, generally used in 3d modeling, with a video tut on one and working on the other.
ohh really ? its nice to hear it.. my monitor is 19 inch
yes 19" is kinda on the smaller side so 720p will look fine on that.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3ddne heres one for 800the gains included in my 100$ more build are well worth it. the 8 core over the 6 core, a better motherboard for overclocking and a cooler. The 770 is heaps better than the 270 as a gpu.
