Hello! I have a GTX 650 ti boost and it looks like i cannot have 2 monitors :(

This is what i do:

I plug the 2nd monitor to the PC GPU and then i go into nVidia control panel, and i go into "Configurate Surround, PhysX", but i cannot click on enable surround :(

this is what how it looks...

http://gyazo.com/f0ec00aefa1beee5b18adc2bcfe08ac3

this is on swedish but i hope u understand..

My primary monitor is plugged with DVI but the 2nd one is plugged with VGA-DVI Converter... Is it the converter that doesent work or the graphic card? I appriciate any help! Thanks!

Surround only works with 3 or 5 monitors. If you just want an additional monitor for browsing the web etc. while playing on the other go to"Ställ in flera bildskärmar" and enable your 2nd screen.

both my primary monitor and the 2nd monitor are plugged with DVI-D.. and do you mean that i should try plugging my primary monitor with the converter?

Yes you should try that, although I think I already found the culprit. You see, DVI-D uses a digital digital signal instead of an analog, which is used by the VGA, making changing the converter the most likely solution. Since your card has HDMI you should get a HDMI to DVI-D converter since HDMI also uses a digital signal. Use this converter to replace the old one and it should start working just fine.

I tried plugging the primary monitor with the converter, that didnt work... Anyway, my 2nd monitor has only a VGA input, no DVI or HDMI :(

the 2nd monitor is a Acer AL1716A

aaaand... does it matter if i plug a DVI-D to a DVI-I input?

Oh it's that way around...

Well this is going to be tricky... Your GPU has one DVI-D and one DVI-I connection, right?
Plug the 1st monitor into the DVI-D slot with a DVI-D cable (NOT DVI-I, that won't fit) Then get an DVI-I to VGA adapter and plug that into your DVI-I slot and then connect your VGA-only display to that adapter. That should work since DVI-I supports both analog and digital.

but the converter is DVI-D... so you mean that DVI-D doesent work on a DVI-I either? or is it only DVI-I into DVI-D?

Yes, DVI-D works on DVI-I, but it's only able to take out the digital signal, not the analog which the VGA needs. (DVI-I has both so a DVI-I to VGA is what you need)

ok... so i should i buy a DVI-I to VGA converter?? but what should i do with my DVI-D to VGA then?

anyway... is it any chance that my 2nd monitor is too old for my GPU or something like that?

Yes, something that looks like this: http://www.abacus24-7.com/productpics/DVI-V-ADPT.jpg

Well, it seems your converter isn't working anyway (since you tested it with only 1 screen) so I don't see how that's a problem.

EDIT: I don't think being too old is a thing. I mean, VGA only has one standard so at least I don't think it is. (I've used a really old monitor and a 720p TV from the same VGA port, not simultaneously of course, but they both worked.)

Well did you manage to get any image through it in any way (Even as 1st monitor)? If not, it's broken.

Oh well... Just buy the new adapter from a local store so you can return it if it still won't work so that I won't feel guilty for wasting your money :D
