I need to make sure whats the real problem of my computer shutting down randomly.

Specs:
8gb ram
Intel core i5 3450S
Gtx 760 hawk or gigabyte version(will see)
Asrock h67m (gonna get a new one) better one
Hyper 212 evo cooler
Dvd drive..
1 hardrive

Proccessor tested with prime95 for 24h worked no problems.
Got a new cooler (hyper 212evo) cut the temp. from 60°C to 36°C.
Got new memory(RAM) 8gb ran memtest,no problems.

The one last thing I have in my computer that can be wrong is the PSU or the motherboard. Has to be the PSU because its an old one 400W,brand : MaxPower.

The PC shuts down when I open a game not while browsing, aldo sometimes when I browse too.
I guess it doesn't have enough power, does it?

Help! I'm thinking of getting the 550W XFX Core Edition 80 - XFX-P1-550S-XXB9. or XFX Core Edition 80+ 550W PSU - EasyRail technology. Let me know which one do you think is better and let me know if you need any more information to be sure the PSU is the wrong part. Thanks!

550W is enough mate, go for that XFX.. its very good PSU and most likely the problem will be solved as soon as you attach that PSU to the unit ;)
Those ppl who say get more more more are just stupid its not like this card using 300W total power is it?... where does that answers come from for god sake.

Copyright-Wapow stop being an idtiot... ofc we can put 1,5KW power supply for 200W PC but whats the point... just to have more? Its not like it gonna work better... :sarcastic:

To be specific this solution CPU + GPU is total of like 250W + give it 50W for the mobo etc so its max 300W. Divide it by power supply efficiency (0.8 or so) and that will give u a final answer of 375.... how is that close to 550W or 600W even..
Another thing Max wattage is quite pessimistic scenario... its really hard to actually put all the components to use full power. so thats another answer why putting 100-200W more is far more than actually required.
Just look how branded PC's are being set up and you would be surprised.

I did read the comment and 1,5KW was a metaphor.
When he's is asking about 550W.. is it fine and you say "No pick 600"... its just an answer sucked from your thumb... do you actually know how it works or just are one of those person what prefer "bigger is better" solution?

Btw I'm using even more power hungry setup with 450W Corsair PSU for 4 years and never had any power related glitches.
