Hello,
Seems some basic Vista files (cannot open photo gallery anymore jpeg files + pc says audio device is no longer installed ??) have been corrupted/damaged. Tried to update all drivers recently, looks like things went wrong there.
As Vista is running out of service as well now (several programs no longer downloadable) intend to install new Windows 7 Home Premium "over" existing/damaged Vista.
Are there any problems to be expected or will the new Windows 7 "overwrite/correct" any corrupt and or damaged files ?
Would appreciate soonest reply :) Thanks !

Best solution is to back up your files, then do a clean install of Windows 7. Don't try to upgrade over a messed-up version of Windows. I once tried upgrading to Windows 8 over top of everything I had on my hard drive and it caused too many bugs. So I reinstalled Windows 7 and then ran the Windows 8 upgrade disc. Lesson learned. Hope this helps you.
