The strange thing happened last night when I tried to open an installation of a program from a CD from its folder. (I opened it from the drive) It was taking quite long so I took out Task Manager and force shutdown the file. From there the Task Bar disappeared and for me, the background screen turned grey. The thing is, it didn't disappear so I couldn't shut down my desktop so I pressed the Turn Off button on my computer case. When I restarted it, I tried to move my mouse but the cursor just lay there, waiting to move. I am currently using a different computer to type this, Thank You for reading.

I had a problem like this in the past, although in my case the mouse and kb worked for a while before freezing. In my case it was a faulty hard drive so try to use a hdd from one of your other PCs and see if it works.

I will try that but recently I have noticed the windows folder that I used is still still there, it didn't close! I thought that was strange and my hard drive might not be the case.
