if you buy 32 of 1GB, you will still lose about the same as single 32GB. It has to do with haw the computer reads memory space in multiples of 1024 but the displayed number on packages is in multiples of 1000. So 32GB = 32,000,000,000 bytes as displayed on packages. But with computer and multiples of 1024, 32,000,000,000 becomes 31250000Kb, becomes 30518Mb, becomes 29.8Gb.
Computer will always displays space about 7% less than advertised space, and companies are getting away with it because they have worded in fine print the number displayed and actual space in computer aren't the same.
