Hello everyone.

I have a single hard drive with two partitions - C:(187GB) and D:(30 GB). My laptop came with windows 7 pre-installed on C: drive. In the past, when I encountered a certain problem with Windows, I did a clean install of Windows 7 on C: drive. Till now, everything went smooth. However, recently something went wrong and the only solution was to reinstall windows again. In order to save my files on C Drive , I installed windows(again 7) on D: drive. Now I want to remove the C drive installation. But this page at Microsoft says:

Warnings

Don't format or delete the earlier version of Windows in a multiboot configuration. Doing so could render your computer inoperable. This is because the computer uses the startup files from the earliest version of Windows that is installed on the computer.

If the earlier version of Windows was somehow installed after Windows 7 was installed on the computer, deleting Windows 7 in this case could render the computer inoperable.

So, If I remove my C: drive Window installation, will that be harmful for my system? If yes, how can I get rid of it safely?

Please guide.

the correct way would be to save all info on a external drive then reformat the whole drive and start over, split the drive into like 75g on c: and the rest on d: and reinstall win 7 on c: then put your other files like pictures and movies and music on the d:. You can also get a boot manager and delete the old start up and make sure it starts up only from your windows that you are using. Use easyBCD to control the booting of windows!
