Hey. I bought a new ram to my old computer. It's really old and I don't have enough money to buy new one so I thought I could upgrade it. So I bought a new ram today but when I attach it, my computer won't boot. I tried both new and old ram together, and only new one but it won't boot. When I try just the old ram it work fine. Any ideas?

There are a couple reasons why it's not working.

1: The motherboard doesn't support that particular stick. RAM is not simply RAM. There are differences such as timings. If you can, put the old RAM back in and flash the BIOS to the latest version and then try it again.

2: It could be that it's just a bad stick. If you have another DDR2 system try it in there.

Lastly, when you put the new RAM in and try to boot do you get any beeps? If so, those beeps are trying to tell you something and you should look up what they mean for your motherboard.

Just try New 800 DDR2 RAM,Get it for a trial from your Friend or relative. Also Test Not Working RAM to your Friends Motherboard ( IF Supports DDR2,Check Compatibility before trial ).After you done you will know What is actual problem,If that RAM does not work to other Compatible Board Just get a new RAM Stock from Kingston or Corsair.I am sure this will help you,Cheers :bounce:
