So should i connect the fans to the motherboard or just the PSU ??

I have a corsair 400r case, along with a msi 970a-g43 motherboard, cooler master hyper evo 212 and a r9-270x oc graphic card ??

I am lost as to where do i connect the different fans.

Am an amateur. So any help would be appreciated :D

Connect the fans that are on your evo to the CPU fan header and the case fans are completely up to you whether you want to connect to motherboard or PSU, I would go with what ever method allows your cables to be neatly tucked away.

Some mother boards need at least the CPU fan connected to them or they start giving you warnings on startup about the CPU fan. As to connecting them direct, you will get better cooling power but your system will be noisy. If you don't mind the noise nock your self out. I recommend fan controllers or if your mother board has fan profile software then hook them too your mother board and use the software.

You will want to connect the CPU fan to the CPU fan header on the motherboard. It is up to you whether you want to connect case fans to the motherboard or PSU, if you connect them to the motherboard you will be able to monitor their fan speeds (doesn't really matter unless your into that).

hi ariadon1992,
you can connect the fans to the fan headers on your mother board or alternatively get a molex to fan adaptor or a molex fan station,

you get the idea , you can power these from the molex that are on the lead that comes from your power supply at different voltages to alter fan speeds eg. 12v flat out , 7v slower , 5v slower still to make fans quieter

Well there seems to be three fans in the corsair case and I have the cooler master hyper 212 evo ?? So should i connect the evo to the motherboard and the rest to the PSU ??

it does not really matter wher you power these fans from , if you power them from the motherboard you will have the abillity to alter fan profiles or change speeds from windows, if you power them from molex on your psu the speed you connect them to eg. 12v,7v,5v is what they are set at and you will not have the abillity to change speed from windows , both will work fine
