Disaster! I was playing Assassin's Creed 4 on my new-as-of-September-2013 system when it abruptly crashed. The screen went straight to black and now it won't turn on. There wasn't a hint of anything wrong with it before this happened. When I press the case power button it briefly flashes blue and the fans sort of jerk but then nothing happens. A single whiney beep also sounds when I do this. After this the system doesn't respond at all when I press the power button, unless I turn the power off-and-on at the wall, then it does the blue-flash-beep one time, then nothing until I flip the wall switch again. This makes me think it might be a power supply problem, but I really have no idea.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be? Or even where I should look for advice?

I literally had a similar issue two days ago. Try removing sticks of ram one by one and trying to boot up each time just to check if that's the issue. That is what allowed me to boot up my PC again - but I still don't know why it happened or how to prevent it from happening again.
