Hello everyone, I need to upgrade my RAM from 3 GB to 4 GB (32 bit) and I am a little bit confused.
I need to buy 2GB SO-DIMM DDR3 PC3-10600 1333MHZ or 2GB SO-DIMM DDR3 PC3-8500 1066 MHZ?? Also do I need to replace both RAMs or I could use a new with the old 2 GB RAM?

Thank you in advance for any help!

currently you have 1333mhz ram which is running at 1066mhz, you should check your bios to make sure that proper ram speed is selected

to upgrade to 4GB you can buy either of 1333 or 1066
but since you already have 1333 installed thus you should opt for 1333mhz ram

you can install different brands too

one thing to make sure is that both rams should have same speed and timings at 1333 speed (in your case, it is 1333mhz with cl9 timing at 1.5v) (different timings and speed can work but it requires more settings to be done and it is not recommended either)

I did a scan from crucial.com and it recommends GB kit (2GBx2), 204-pin SODIMM, DDR3 PC3-10600 memory module BUT from CPUID CPU-Z I see DRAM frequency 532,1 MHZ. I believe, even though I buy a 1333Mhz RAM still it won't make any difference unless I change BIOS. Also, I am using a laptop and should avoid overheating.
