dont buy asrock...i am not a fanboy but i speak after my experience with that particular product...overclocking is not beastly...usb 3.0 headers missing...colour scheme is weird...i firmly recommend the asus m5a99fx r2.0 mobo...good colour scheme...reputable brand...

I'd recommend that too but I'm pretty sure it's too expensive.

AsRock is a solid motherboard company. They started as a subsidiary of Asus actually, and bought themselves out. If no onboard usb 3.0 are a big deal, then I'd skip that board, but you'll have to spend more money. The comment on the board was made by someone with experience with this particular product, so it's something to listen to. I prefer Asus myself too, but it's 15 dollars more expensive. Up to you.

if you are not overclocking, dont care abt usb 3.0 headers and dont mind the ugly looks: yes its ugly...the actual colour is dirty brown and not the jet black...you can go with asrock...but i would yet recommend asus...trust me, asus mobo is worth the 15$ increment in price...it also keeps overclocking options open...its got sli...reasonable colour scheme and some nice asus exclusive features....

Well its not that its $15 its that ive found an asrock board for around $80 an it comes with sli and im not too worried about the color and i dont do overclocking. I also own an asus motherboard currently but i need to get a new one for my fx 8350 and i dont really use all it features i just like to game so i guess im oretty easy when it comes to motherboards

whatever suits you...

Well, honestly, if you aren't worried about the overclocking then I'd just skip the 990fx board, and get a 970 instead. http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-970extreme4 Better feature set than the 990fx Extreme 3 board, and it's cheaper too. Generally we only recommend the 990fx because it supports overclocking better. You can overclock on a 970 board, just more stable/reliable on the 990fx. But, if that's not a worry for you, get the one I linked instead and I think you'll be happier.
