I know the question above is silly enough. I recently upgraded the pc. I bought the M5A99x Evo R2.0 with AMD FX 8320. I also got a new PSU, the XFX Pro 650w. I currently run the Ati Radeon Asus 7750 HD 1GB Ddr5.

I wanted to upgrade my GPU for some reason. I just want to be able to run dayz and battlefield at 60fps maxed out. Its silly because I do have a good rig for the average pc gamer.

I was thinking of buying the GTX 770.

What would you recommend ?
Thanks in advance !

What is your budget? A 680 would do it, certainly a 690 but they are $750.

A 770 is pretty much an OC'ed 680 =). A 770 won't be able to run maxed out 1080p at 60 fps all the time though.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kfqr9m1JTpI - specs are better compared to your PC and he even drops below 60 sometimes. A 770 should be fine for you, but you can't expect it to run 60+ fps constantly (especially when playing on very large maps/64 players).

If you go with the 770, buy the windforce x3. Very silent and very good for OC. Otherwise, go with the EVGA one =)

770 should be fine, I have a 760 and get 45-55 on Battlefield on parcel @ 1080p. So far the evga cooler (ACX) works very quiet and very cool (76C after 10 minutes on Core Burner with EVGA oc scanner x. The fan was running at 45% and still barely audible). If you can go for the 4GB 770, but I am not sure if that is within your budget.

Go for the 770. Don't always expect 60 FPS in Dayz though, it is a VERY intensive game (or really, just not optimized for hardly anything). You should normally be able to run BF4 at a really good framerate on max settings, but you may have to tone things down a little bit depending on the map and amount of players.

EDIT: Wow I got ninja'd by a lot. Guess I should have refreshed the page before posting :p  My mistake.

gtx 770 and r9 280x are both awesome option for 1080p gaming. Now, it depends on your budget.

Well, the 280X would certainly fulfill your needs, I wouldn't go for the 770, due to you preferably not spending a lot of money :)

The 280x wouldn't be a good choice atm. The price/performance ratio sucks atm because of the coinminers buying the r9's...

It really gets on my nerves the people who buy these cards in bulk for mining. It's ruining the prices for the rest of us :/

That's off topic though. @OP I think the 770 is your best bet at this point.

Both are high-end 1080p graphics cards.Buy which one is LESS expensive. The r9 also supports mantle driver which would perform better at bf4.
Dont forget, both are awesome.

Because people are buying them in such quantity, the companies are charging more because of supply and demand.

Comparining the 280x with the 770 would be a unfair =) The 770 is faster, but this makes it more expensive of course.

In this case: cheaper = less performance. So depending on his budget, I would not go with the cheapest if he can afford a 770 :D
