Hey so guys I am looking at building my new system and can't decide on 770 or 780. If I get the 770 I could add another one for SLI a 6 months down the road, but if I get the 780 I would not be able to. What would you guys recommend? Or should I just wait as long as I can and get the 780 ti?
I am slightly verging away from AMD right now since the bitcoin miners are jacking the prices up way higher than they should be.
I plan on trying to play some 2014 games like Watchdogs and Thief. I also play Xplane-9 which is a massive and very intensive flight sim. I also do video editing, and Photoshop.
Honestly anything would be better than what I have right at the moment though. (AMD athlon II x4 635 at 3.5 ghz, GT610, 7gbs of 1333) I plan on getting the 4770k with 8 gbs of 2400 mhz ram.
Thanks guys!

Well, a pair of 770's will absolutely destroy a single 780. On the other hand, it uses increased electricity. Also, single card solutions are generally cleaner. Sure, drivers have gotten better, but I know that far cry 3 had severe issues with SLI. If you played multiplayer, the game would crash after every round. Turn off SLI and it worked just fine. I do know that my 780 gets 100 fps at 1920x1080 easily in most games except crysis. Plus it overclocks well.

Are there any other games that you know of that don't like SLI?

Not that I've personally played. New games on release can sometimes have stability issues. Usually it's fixed in a patch down the road. I'd say get the 780. It destroys current games at 1080p

If you plan to play on one monitor at 1080p, a good GTX 780 is really all you are going to need. EVGA, ASUS.....

You could save some money by going for a i5-4670k over the i7. However, if you're looking at video editing for professional reasons you should go with the i7. As far as gaming is concerned, the i5 is enough.

How future proof do you think the i5 would be?

My 3570k isn't a bottleneck yet and I don't expect it to be for at least another 2 years.

For some years atleast; it's a pretty powerful processor, is Haswell, and has 4 cores.

Should I get one that has the stock clock or the or a factory oc'ed version?
