Don't want to use the heatsink fan for the AMD FX 6300 (when I get it). Heard that the Cooler Master Hyper 212 is a really good heatsink fan but don't have that much money as building a custom pc. Would the Zalman CNPS5X Performa keep the AMD FX 6300 cool, I plan to overclock it from the stock 3.5ghz to around 4.2ghz. Would this cooler be good or is there another one that is cheap but good?

Thanks

A Noctua fan by itself will be over your budget lol

The one you have will do just fine for what you're looking to do. Like I said, 4.2 isn't too much of an overclock, so the Zalman should be able to handle the extra heat just fine. Unless you plan on 24/7 100% operation lol

Do you have a parts list for ease of view? If you are overclocking I'd recommend the Noctua fans cause they are silent and very good at keeping the cpu cool. (For me Idle temp is below 25C)

If you're looking at the $20 price point that would be fine, but if you are planning $30, the CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO would be better.

4.2GHz is a moderate overclock, as long as your CPU doesn't need much extra voltage to get there.

In short, yes, that one will do just fine for your needs :)
