My GPU recently kicked the bucket and I am willing to wait a couple of months before I purchase a new one. As of recently I have been wondering if I could play less demanding titles at 1080p. Would I be able to play cod WaW or Black Ops with my setup? (Core i7 4770k and 16GB of 1600Mhz RAM)

You are the only one who can figure that out.
Just try it and see. If it works then the answer is yes!

That may be able to handle games on 720P with FPS around 30.
That GPU does not have a very good benchmark.
That is worse then all of my old cards. :)
Happy computing! :)

Can your computer run that game?

System Requirements Lab analyzes your computer in just seconds, and it's FREE.

1) Search for a game ..... Select a game from the list

2) click "Can You Run It"

Integrated video works pretty good at 720p with many MMORPGs on low to medium settings. Neverwinter ran well on integrated video off of my PC with an i3-2100 with intel graphics 2000. Battlefield f2p ran ok. A GTX 550 made a big difference though.

While you're waiting to get the new card, you may want to check out some MMORPGs. A lot of them are free and can offer you a few months of enjoyment.

Either I got a luck of the draw CPU or I am a wizard. I am currently playing BC2 at 1080p with medium graphics at a solid 45 FPS

This is a good reference:

Your minimum framerates in most titles are going to give you some choppy action. Keep the AA off and set things to low and you'll play most titles while minimizing the choppiness..

Yup, I agree with ubercake. Most MMO games can be played with your GPU. But for newer games like Titanfall, well, wait for a few months til you get a new GPU for your rig. Anyways, to help you with your gaming concern, here's my collection of MMORPG games that is due this year:
