Hello, bought this case about half a year ago. For past few weeks I've an issue with side fan that came with HAF X case.

When I'm starting up my PC, it goes mental, like it's literally hitting something and vibrating, it happens every time I start my computer.

The thing is - it stops after 2-3 minutes and goes quiet, like it's supposed to be. I've never had this issue with a fan and I'm not sure why it's doing it. I tired detaching it, cleaning it, screwing it harder. It didn't help. Any idea why is it happening? Did I just happen to have a faulty fan? Will try to upload video later to clarify what I'm talking about. Let's just say that sound is quiet... loud.

Most case fans are assembled using sleeve bearings (small cylinders of steel) rather than ball bearings. Because of that when they begin to fail it is almost always very, very noisy. What's happening: the permanent lubrication in the bearings is finished, it doesn't want to do its job anymore. Yet when it warms up (after a minute or two of operation) it gets thin and spread enough to quiet the bearings.

My apologies for the bad news. But it's time to replace that fan.

Best of luck to you.
