who is the administrator?

Even though I am supposedly the administrator I often receive message you have insufficient privledges and need to be the administrator. I have tried several different methods and looked up many solutions...none of which have worked...so far. Any ideas? Why did this simple thing become such a problem and why has a simple over-ride or fix surfaced?

When you're doing something that needs elevated permissions, the UAC (User Access Control) will kick in. Even if you are in an Administrator account.

This is a good thing.

And you shouldn't be using an Admin account for day to day operations.
