My computer set up is as follows:
-Gigabyte Z87X-OC mobo
-i5 4670k processor
-16GB (8GBx2)
-Sapphire R9 270X graphics
I was having lots of BSOD's in Windows. Most of them referenced the MEMORY_MANAGEMENT bug flag, so I figured I'd run memtest.
I did so, and got lots of errors. I took out one stick, ran memtest. Everything looks great.
Just to be certain, I put the allegedly faulty stick into the other slot, and run memtest in multi-thread mode. Memtest froze up. I didn't get any errors, but I chalked it up to the bad stick and replaced it with the stick I assumed was good, and repeated the same test (in multi-thread mode). Here's the kicker - memtest froze up in the same place, with the assumed good stick. It locks up during test #7 at 58%, if that makes any difference.
If I run in single-thread mode there is no issue. Has anyone encountered something like this before?
