Hey guys i recently bought DDR3 Corsair Vengeance 1866mhz 2x4 RAM. Currently i have 8GB of the same RAM installed, but when i try to put in the other 2 sticks, my computer won't boot up fully. So in order for it to boot up properly i have to leave it at 8GB.

It won't read my keyboard, mouse, and monitors as well. The monitors will be on but with the orange light being up.

What i did do was try one stick and put it into each slot. The first two slots made the computer boot fully, the last two didn't. I'm hoping it's not a motherboard problem because my computer is only two months old tops.

The timings for all the sticks are 9-9-9-24(checked all from BIOS).

Im currently running the Memory Frequency at 1600 mhz.

Would love to get some feedback asap. Thank you!

Unfortunately putting the new ram into slots 1-3 and then in 2-4 doesn't let me boot all the way through, even to the bios splash.

When I tried putting the new ram into slots 1-2 it booted successfully.

Sounds like possibly a bad channel (2), unbalanced CPU or a voltage problem, try them in 1-2, go into BIOS and raise the DRAM voltage + 0.06, then give it a try, if no joy, next would be to loosen CPU cooler and snug it back down as evenly as possible, not super tight and give it a try, if too tight on one side or in a corner can unbalance the CPU so don't have full contact to all pins

So it should be 1.560V correct?

And another thing worth mentioning is that originally I've been using the ram in slots 1-2 from the beginning. Is that bad?

In more technical terms, they have been in DIMM_A1 and DIMM_A2 ever since I built it.

Need to find out if a channel problem first thing, might pull all the sticks, reset the CMOS then instal and see if boots to BIOS at the mobo default, with your CPU, it might also be that it's just barely able to run two sticks at 1866 since there's no OC, so 3-4 may be out of the question, so see if all can run at the mobo default, think the Asus is at 1066, then if good take to 1333, then 1600...should be able to run all four at the mobo default, with maybe a + 0.06 DRAM voltage increase

How do I reset the CMOS? Sorry I'm still new to computers >.<

There's a jumper on the mobo, should show in your mobo manual, else remove the mobo battery, looks similar to a silver coin while PSU is unplugged for about 10-15 minutes then reinstall same as it was (will need to reset the date and time afterwards)

Alright then, so i should have all 4 sticks of ram connected when trying to reinstall correct? And just disconnect the PSU power cord and nothing else?
