I just bought four Microsoft Windows XP Professional X64 Edition Unused Code Keys and I want to know if it matters what disk I use. I only have x32 disks so I need to buy a x64. Since I don't need a key can I just ust a Dell OEM disk?

windows xp64 isnt worth installing.it was one of the buggiest versions of windows out there.drivers were and are practically nonexistant. ive got a windows me disk still in the original wrapper but that doesnt mean im gonna install it on anything.

Ironically, I now remember that I stuck with 32bit because I wanted to avoid driver problems. I'd like to say that I assumed that those problems were only when the OS was new, but in all truth 64bit has become so accepted that I'd forgot about those issues.. I bought them because I don't like 7 and I wanted to utilize all my memory.

Oh well, win some lose some

its the only black mark on an otherwise wonderful os.i resisted going to win7 for a couple of years but when i did i could never go back.ive trimmed and tweaked it so my old phenom triple core runs like a dream.win7 to me is kinda like xp if they would have kept refining it.but that wouldnt have made microsoft enough money.lol.on a lighter note if you have a win7 licence its good for both 32 and 64 bit versions.

I have multiple hard drives and I still have a Win 7 drive. I no longer multi-boot but I do swap out hard drives every once in awhile just to keep the 7 disk up to date.. I don't dislike 7 as much as I still use partitioned hard drives with C drive being nothing but naked OS so I can replace OS as necessary.. Under this scenario I find the hierarchy of XP easier to navigate.

I only paid $50 for these keys so I might keep them and install one on a HD for kicks, if I did that; is there a particular XP x64 disk I would need or would any XP x64 disk work?

Thanks guys, I'll use a backup hard drive so that I'll still have useable system in case I have driver problems. This will also help me to test the speed on 64bit versus 32bit.
