What should i get to have wifi on my pc

Hey, i live with my family and have a room upstairs and the internet cable does not reach my room because the router is downstairs. What can i get so that that i can have wifi. My pc's motherboard does not have built in wifi. I have a mac which I'm using to write this.

You need a wireless router first. Then you have to add a wireless adapter to your computer. If you need help deciding on either of these let me know and I will help.
