I just finished building a new PC and installing windows 7. (Parts are here http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2gUqS) and after I had installed the motherboard drivers I assumed it would find connections, but nothing shows up. The LAN driver it installed is "Realtek PCIE Network Driver" is that what I need? Trying to connect to the internet wirelessly on my router (I think its a router, it says Linksys and has two little antennas) since it is too far away to connect with a cable. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

No. If you wire it, you will just be plugging an ethernet cable into your motherboard from behind the computer. You don't need a wireless adapter to wire it. And if your computer is far from the modem/router, you can always do what I have done and just drill some holes in the floor, run the wire under your house, then back up into the 2nd hole that is right under your computer. You can get a 50 foot Cat. 6 cable off of Amazon for around 10 bucks. That would be faster than...

I just looked it up, and didnt even know that was a thing. What about wiring it up still? Would I need any kind of internet adapter for that?

And on that note.....I'm off to bed. :D Work in the morning. If you have anymore questions, go ahead and post them here and I will answer them when I get in from work. Talk to ya later!

Alright good night man. I think I'll just grab the router and bring it next to the computer just to be sure it can connect. I'll probably reply back once I test it out. Thanks for the help so far though, I appreciate it. :)

Have you had a chance to run an ethernet cable from your router to the computer yet? And if so, did it work ok for you?

Well, what I did was bring the router next to my computer, but when I plugged it in it wasn't emitting any internet signal at all. So i'm pretty confused here atm.
