Adding 4GB to existing 8gb Dual Channel

I just built a new PC and I am currently running 2x4gb in dual channel.
Can I add a 4gb ram stick from my old s5-1414 dell pc to my current pc?
Will it remove the dual channel from the existing ram?
The old ram runs at 1.5v just like my new ram, and also pc-12800

Yes you could add it, but it will not be ideal and I don't think it is dual channel unless the other slot is filled with the same one. Honestly, the difference between 8 and 12 is probably not worth it. You are probably never using more than 8 gigs anyway.
