list of things: Realtek drivers installed and re-installed, set to default device, plays sound when 'test'ed, went to services.msc and made sure 'windows audio' is restarted and set to automatic, speakers work on friends laptop, I swear to god I plugged it in right (the color coded plugs and ports make it easy). what. the hell. Please help, I have absolutely no idea why these wont work, seems like I've tried everything.

Mobo: Asus VI Hero
Speakers: CyberAcoustics 5402 speakers
OS: Windows 7

any ideas?

Hi spindoc,
are you getting any sound at all ? , only when you test them? , i gather you are using the onboard audio , what motherboard are you using ?
and are you using a 32bit or 64bit operating system?
just need a little more info to help diagnose your problem.

How to check playback properties? Though I thought I have checked this and found they weren't on mute, but definitely could be wrong. I will try installing that driver when I get home, could you provide link?

I can re-install my graphics drivers but I think I would have that installed then. I checked, I recognize the menu and know the playback properties arent on mute

I do not have the 'Speaker fill' option under enhancements tabs. I have: enviornment, voice cancel, pitch shift, equalizer, swap center/sub speaker, loudness equalization, bass management, room correction, DTS connect.

Also all levels have been turned on,m with exception of microphone
