Hello,
First let me say that I usually find what I am looking for in these forums and I thank all the knowledgable people for sharing information. :)

I have an older Asus P6X58D-E and i7 960 OC'd at 4.2GHz and Win 7 64bit OS. I just purchased my first SSD by getting a Samsung 840 Pro 256GB. I'm running the SSD in slot 1 (as opposed to slot 0) on the Marvell 6GB/s controller. I have read lots of topics on the Marvell 9128 and see that it is not very well spoken of. I'm also running 2x 250GB revision II drives in raid0 and one 500GB drive on the Intel controller.
When I run the fsutil behavior query disabledeletenotify in command prompt it returns a 0. This would indicate that Trim is working and Trim only works if AHCI is enabled, correct? AHCI is enabled in BIOS for the Marvell 9128 but Samsung Magician says AHCI is deactivated. I am not showing any AHCI devices in Device Manager either.
However, check out these results for Magician and CrystalDiskMark;

As you can see my results are outstanding. Or, are these numbers skewed due to AHCI or Trim not properly running? I'm new to SSD's so any information is most appreciated. I believe I have installed all drivers for my motherboard and I have installed the latest Intel RST driver.

My concern is speed as well as longevity.

Thank you very much!

Thanks Dereck47,
I do have RAPID enabled. I'm still looking to get AHCI enable properly though. I'm certain it is a driver issue but I'm unable to locate problem. Here are a couple more shots of my system specs. As you can see AS SSD is showing the Marvell 9128 controller but not AHCI.

And a shot of Device Manager showing all storage and drive devices. Showing the proper driver but no AHCI again.

Or maybe I should just thank my lucky 1's & 0's and leave well enough alone. As long as I don't "spin a bearing" or "throw a rod" (car guy talk there) on my new drive I'll be satisfied.
Thanks for your response

This issue of my Samsung Magician saying that ACHI mode is de-activated is fixed with newest Samsung update. It now shows AHCI Mode as active. Simply a software problem it seems.
Now, however, Magician is showing 4474/4574 R/W MB/s and 168364/113571 R/W IOPS. Yowza!

Thanks for the responses. I figured I'd post this in case someone else is having the same issue.
