I just got an Asus X79 Deluxe motherboard and installed in a computer. The CPU LED is lit (means there's an issue with the CPU) and q-Code is 00 and monitor doesn't show anything. Asus's website says my i7-3820 CPU is compatible if my BIOS is 0401 or after. How dodo I know what BIOS I have? Serial number? I couldn't locate it on the MB.

0401 is the shipping build so you should not need to update UEFI.

Check all power connections are secure to the board (EPS 12V especially). Try using one memory module only as well and see if that helps. I assume the CPU and PSU are known to be working?

On one of threads here it said to look at the sticker next to the power connection. The number ends with 0701 which is the latest BIOS version. Is this correct? Anyways whether it's 0401 or 0701, this means I have a version which works with the CPU. The CPU LED is on so I think a pin is bent.

You can check the CPU socket for bent pins and see what you find..
