RAM size micro-ATX

Are the size for DDR3 RAM the same both for ATX and micro-ATX(m-ATX) motherboards? I'm buying this motherboard: MSI H81m-p33

Will it fit normal size DDR3 RAM? What I mean, is the RAM stick's length the same for both ATX and micro-ATX motherboards?

as it says "Supports DDR3-1600 Memory" so yes definitely

Some memory heat wafers make them look quite thick, while the "ports" or what you call it where you install the mem are quite close to each other, on m-ATX motherboards. There shouldn't be any problem with this should there?

there shouldnt be any problems you can plug them in easily and btw the heatsink on most rams is not that thick its just tall like corsair vengeance

Yea vengence is 5cm in height. Could cause problems with some cpu coolers i heard. Hopefully not with stock intel cooler.

Is there a difference in buying one stick of 8gb compared to 2x4gb? Like will the 1 stick not run in dual-mode or something?

i would rather get low profile in exchange for a better cooler and also either one stick or 2 rams , they will run as they are supposed to

Yes there is a difference! Two sticks will be able to run in "Dual Channel" mode while one stick cannot. DC results in about 10% more memory bandwidth resulting in better performance.

Get 2X4 GB!
