Need help in diagnosing the problem in my pc and fixing it

I have a amd fx 6300,gts 450,corsair xms 4gb ddr3, msi 970a-g43 mobo.I recently upgrade from a core 2 duo and an ancient asus mobo. The problem is my pc will randomly freeze.Tried formatting,re installing windows etc.Problem persists.I have a gaming cabinet with 1 front fan,1 side fan.Is the problem overheating and if so how do I fix it.Or have I got a defective mobo/cpu(I think highly unlikely). Please help

More about diagnosing problem fixing
  1. have you installed all the latest motherboard and cpu drivers as required by your system?
  2. Hi Anshuman Srivastava ,
firstly we need a little more info from you to help fix your problem ,
We need to know what version of windows you are running ie,windows xp , windows 7 etc and 32 or 64 bit operating system
and what speed of ram you have installed in your motherboard ie,1333mhz,1600mhz etc
  3. Windows 7 64bit, 320 gb hard disk,1600 mhz corsair xms 3 ram. After removing side panel I though temp decreased but the cpu had cooled but I was wrong soon it rose again, but in bios cpu is most idle, thus the temp should at least be 40 right?bare minimum 45 i guess?.Yes,latest drivers.

*Sorry for misleading.Edited it.Was in a hurry didn't care to wait and see if temp was constant
  4. looks like you have to reinstall your cpu cooler by properly applying thermal paste. Make sure do it properly:
    http://www.wikihow.com/Apply-Thermal-Paste
  5. The thermal past was installed.btw I edited my reply. Please read it again and tell If I should still re install my cpu cooler by which I think you mean heat sink?Im not a total noob but yes Im not an intermediate either so it would be cool if you could be a little more .I removed the heat sink and re inserted it just to check if the thermal base was there, and it was there.
UPDATE: I use click bios software to check cpu temp,It showed 63 C in fifa 14 around half time
  6. What are your GPU temps? Run Furmark for us.

    http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/
  7. sure, will run it and let ya know, btw any deductions? If necessary I can upload some pics if necessary
  8. btw sometimes pc crashes even when Im not doing anything that puts load on the cpu and gpu.
    UPDATE:RAN furmark:
    https://imageshack.com/i/nlf49fp
    Max GPU temp 71
In click bios 2 cpu temp got to max 55
  9. temps looks good and favorable to me, nothing wrong with them. Give a try on Memtest86+; test for your RAM, just to ensure you ain't having any bad sectors. Also, have you tried bios update?
  10. No,I haven't.Btw my pc freezesso much that Im afraid to update bios.
Btw my ram is also new, this issue was there since I had used a local ram for a few days and the issue was there.Nevertheless I will try memtest86+

Updating BIOS may bring stability for your other pc components. Also, BIOS is totally independent of OS you have installed on your pc. So let us know the results after trying them out. Follow the motherboard manual for updating your BIOS version.
  12. I think I have identified the problem,a friend told me my motherboard has bad power phasing. Now Im screwed, how can I overcome the problem without changing my mobo?I cant afford a mobo now :(
  13. power phasing is problem when it comes to overclocking your processor. I don't think you have any problem unless you have overclocked your cpu. Make sure everything is running on stock.
  14. Everything is on stock,I have reset bios setting to default. The issue arrives every now and then, bios is up to date. Btw once I had only one successful run where I managed to play 2 fifa games, browse net and install updates with issues. But then back to square one.
  15. have you updated chipset drivers? What was your memory test results? Have you updated your windows with your latest updates released by Microsoft? For more info, check following website:

  16. I think temp was the problem all along, moved my pc to a cooler room and bam!things start functioning smoothly :D . I think I'll install an aftermarket cooler.Any advice?
