I've got a bonus from work coming in this week, and I'm hoping to nab myself an R9 290x.
First up is my usage - my media course consists of 3D work (3ds Max), editing (Premiere / AE) etc, but really I just want to run everything on ultra. I've currently got a HD5770, and to be honest I'm fed up with compromising. (I'm a sucker, I know)
So that brings me to my question. Which one should I buy? I was tempted towards the XFX, but I've heard terrible things about the reference cooler. I'm going for entry level 290x here, I don't really want an overclocked one.
I'm also thinking about buying a NZXT Kraken G10 watercooling adapter in a month or so, because how quiet the card is matters to me, and I'd really like it to last a long time. So does it actually matter which card I buy?
