Upgrading graphics card - Clueless?!

Solution
You are more than fine with either of those cards. 700W will run everything with room. I actually just upgraded from an i7 920 @4GHz. It ran very well, I just wanted the newer features and figured it was time to upgrade.

I agree with jay2tall. A 2GB 760GTX or a 270x would be a nice addition.

I'm sure you have a decent power supply because I'm guessing the i7 is a 1366 socket CPU. But just to make sure, can you list the make and model of your PSU?

You dont have a bad CPU at all. you can overclock yours on air to run at a warping 4.37 GHZ. Your motherboard is something to look at later.
Your CPU can only supprt up to 24GB ram so note that. You have a pretty awesome PSU. I have the GS 800.

Right now i would say you have some freedom to choose.
1st i would do what you want to do right now. That is to upgrade the GPU. a GTX 760 would be perfect for you right now. You will see a performance boost of largely 70%. Something that would really be welcomed. Now the one you refer to is also perfect but consumes more power for your PSU if you would later like to add another one.
2x 760's might do well on the current PSU you have.
You can pick a GTX 760 up for the same price as the 9270x but get more performance out and also uses less power.

2nd I would upgrade the mobo because the cpu would do its job well( but later)
