usb version problem

I have an usb 3.0 external harddisk connected to an usb 3.0 port (as the user manual of my laptop says)
But the utility usbview.exe indicates bus speed "high" which means usb 2.0 speed.
What is going wrong?

what your os? did you install the motherboard driver?

I'm using windows 8.1
There is an usb 3.0 host controller driver in device manager

Is it needed to install another driver from HP?

at factory it was windows 8 and I have done an update windows 8.1
I have nothing done at the controller driver;it was there automatically.

I've checked the site of HP and there are no usb drivers for my laptop

I don't remember. But the site was not 100% safe i think because the winzip application gave a registration error.
But the winzip process succeeded.

so it could be some software that too old to spec the usb3

I've looked again on the internet and I've found it: it was on www.softpedia.com
There it says:last updated on 2012

I've tried the utility USBDview.exe and it indicates 3.0
So it's indeed usbview that is wrong

I just download it, USBView runs under Windows 98, ME, 2000 and XP., so that is pretty old.
