Motherboard is MSI N1996
Graphics card is EVGA GT220

I was going to use the GT220 from my downstairs computer on another computer so I took the graphics card out. Switched to VGA and turned on the comp...No signal input. So I put the graphics card back and used HDMI...still no input signal.

I did cmos reset through the jumper and small battery...nothing. Not sure what to do. I am trying to use this through VGA

Uhm.. that is a Pentium 4 Mobo? As in was released like over 15 years ago? I am surprised it turns on anymore. Could be the screen your using (best to check with a working computer like a laptop ) but I would MORE put my bet the PC is FINALLY dead. Your lucky it last even HALF as long as it did. Computers are only 5 year old devices, meaning when you hit year 4 start to expect issues and past year 5 your on borrowed time that won't fail randomly due to wear and tear.

LOL OK. I have a 21 year old 486 that still works here

Is the card AGP or PCI-E?
Make sure you didn't knock loose any connections inside.
Did you ground yourself before working on it?

The card is PCI-E, I took out the card and at this point just trying to use the on board VGA connection. My brother built this PC about 3-4 years ago. The monitor works on my laptop. I tried two different monitors on the computer neither worked. When I do put the graphics card back in I can see the fan moving so I know its getting power. This PC was working fine this morning. The only change was the I took the graphics card out.
