New build motherboard advice.

I've been helping a friend of mine build a computer and wanted advise on what motherboard I should go with. Any other advice on the build is also welcome. Plus he's on a 600$ budget.

He plans to use this computer to play games such as skyrim, dark souls ect. Nothing on max settings at 1080p of course. Any suggestions on this build are welcome. Thanks

I think you should check out ASRock. They make a solid line of entry level boards with premium features for good price point.

Any 1150 socket board will support haswell. But I recommend either the ASROCK z87 extreme3, extreme4, or the fatal1ty series.

With the CPU chosen , there's no real need for a Z87 mobo, you won't be OCing, so might save some money and look at the B85 mobos, the Asus B85M-E/CSM might be a good choice, save some money and sink it into something else:

This is true. I was just naming the Z87 chipset as an example. You can get the same features on a non-Z87 board
