Hello.
I tried connecting my WD My Passport (500 GB) today and all that would come up under My Computer is a local disk icon (F) that wouldn't open. It worked fine yesterday so I tried a couple different computers with no luck. It shows that it is connected under Devices and Printers but when I try to open it, I get an error message. Sorry I don't have it quoted but every time I try to open it now the window freezes. I also tried to remove the device under Devices and Printers with no luck. It has a Status of "Driver error".
I'm usually pretty careful with it, but I did drop it last night (about 3ft) when I was pulling it out of my backpack. It worked fine right after the drop though. I also checked the diskpart volume list and it did not show up on the list. Does this mean the drive is corrupted and I lost all of that data or is there still a chance to salvage it and/or the drive? I appreciate any help I could get on this!
