Asus m5a97 r2.0 and amd fx 8350 problem

I bought a asus m5a97 r2.0 and a amd fx 8350 processor, and im having some problems.
The computer boots up fine, loads windows and runs normally. The problem is that the +3v and +12v are about 0.200 too low (according to ASUS ai suite II) and when it drops by 0.300 -0,400 the pc freeze, and i have to manually turn off the pc with the power button. The cpu also goes up to 40c with no programs running. I use the stock fan for cooling. Is it because of the psu?

My pc specs are:
Gigabyte radeon r9 280x
Asus m5a97 r2.0
Amd fx 8350
Corsair cx500
Corsair value select cmv8gx3m2a1333c9 8 gb (2x 4gb)

The case is a medium size InWin(cant remember model)

Every time i try to play a game, the +3v and +12v voltages drop by 0,300-0,500 and my pc crashes. I see this through the asus ai suite II.

Update:
I have a seagate barracuda 2 tb hard drive and a ocz agility 3 128gb ssd
The ssd is my main drive with windows installation

Update 2:
i just installed a new PSU, corsair cx600m.
i still get the same problem with low voltages, but now its just like 0,060v too little.
so its the PSU which is the problem.
but now i have already spent 148$ on a new PSU which is also too weak.
what should i do?

With the specs you gave me your Estimated Wattage is 445W and that's not including your hard drive,RAM,Fans
so you might be pushing the PSU at its max

Make sure you have the newest BIOS

The temps are fine, an aftermarket cooler would lower them 5-10 degrees, but they're fine. Try things in the order suggested so far, you can always manually bump your voltage up keep it from dipping too far. Are you overclocked?

I am going to buy a new cpu fan, maybe water cooling, in the future.
I have not overclocked my processor, unless it has auto overclocking set to default in BIOS.
The gpu is overclocked up to 1250 mh/z using amd catalyst.
I am not good at BIOS settings and overclocking, so i do not know how to manually modify the voltage.

With your rig, I'd want a 550 PSU and that CX is 500 Peak, it carries about 455 volts on the 12 volt rail, it's also a budget model, so think you are a bit shy on actual power, might see if you could borrow a little higher rated one and just try it, have a feeling that's your problem

Ok, so i bought a 600w psu, but it didn't do the trick. I still get 0.040-0.150v too little on the 12v and 3.3v.
I have looked on some videos and tutorials on how to use 2 psu's in one pc. Is it worth the risk to try out? Or should i waste even more money on a 750-800w psu.
My uncle is an electrician, so he has said that he will help me if i try to do the double psu setup.

As long as voltages are within specs (±5%) you should be fine:
+3.135 V to +3.465 V
+11.40 V to +12.60 V

Thats what i thought, but the computer keeps crashing when i start up high demaning games.
The volts dont drop below the ±5% mark.

You've got something faulty then, your first power supply was fine, and you definitely don't have any need of a dual PSU setup (people who do that are running 4 GPU's usually). I'm guessing it's your motherboard, it might have a defect in being able to keep steady voltage supplied to the CPU. It could also be the CPU itself, but i think that's less likely.

Okay, i tried to play some games today, and the pc didn't crash. I played some BF4, League of Legends, and minecraft.
Now i have a new problem.
When i used my old 500w psu, i got 200 fps on max settings on League of Legends before it crashed, now with my new 600w psu, i got 25-55 fps, jumping up and down depending on how much happened ingame.
I didn't test minecraft with the 500w psu and the new parts, but with my old parts i got 60-80 fps on fancy and far settings. Now i got 40 on those settings.
I did not notice any difference in bf4, and i forgot to check the fps.
The only thing that was different was that after 30 minutes, i got a huge framedrop, then the fps slowly got up again, but not to where it was before.

I did not get any crashes this time, but the asus ai suite program kept alerting me of low voltage on the 12v and 3.3v.

While you could have a PSU problem, I wouldn't presume the motherboard works perfectly.

i get these some of the same issues on this board
During netflix my computer will lock up and freeze and i have to reboot it
Gaming isnt as smooth as it should be and yeah i might go to a different motherboard or RMA mine

specs:
MOBO: AMD M5A97 R2.0
CPU: FX-8350 @4GHz
RAM: 8GB DDR3 1600MHz
GPU: EVGA GTX 660
Storage: 240GB Kingston HyperX 3K SSD, 1TB HDD
PSU: 550W 80+ Bronze

I still have not found a fix :/ sadly

Well i found the problem. It is the Asus AI Suite. Somehow it messed up my computer completely. Now after i uninstalled all of its components my computer runs like it should.

I *had* same problems, i got FX-8350 and M5A97-R2.0 and Seasonic 620W M12II-620 Evolution psu. While playing games, computer did freeze for few secs and sounds freeze also. I tested my pc with OCCT (stressed cpu and ram). I was watching wrestling at the same time, only 5 mins and pc did freeze. Picture only freezed but sound stopped working.

My pc has frozen once at BIOS screen and after that on desktop (I have Windows 7 64 bit professional).

Then i started to get error in OCCT just 15secs after started stress test. I tried to reset bios few times but still problems did continue.

I did open the case. I saw that psu's 24 pin cord was a bit loose from motherboard. I did reconnect 24pin and 8pin cpu cords.

I left OCCT over night for 9 hours, no errors deteched and computer not freezed.

I have the same problem while playing Gas Guzzlers Extreme - Full Metal Zombie x64 but did not crash.

Almost identical rig:
FX6300 @4.5 Vcore 1.368| Under load 1.380v
M5a97 R2.0
2x4GB HyperX 1600 CL9
R9 280x Dual-X
Corsair VS650

I calculated here the power consumed by the total system. I think you should remove gpu overclock as it is a power hungry gpu even at stock and you got an 125W cpu too. Your system will need atleast 700W if you plan to install more fans.
