hmm it should work but on the other hand the ram I'm using is low density so if it doesn't work chances are it is because the ram is high density but if you have any more questions just ask also what are your specs

also if that rams voltage is higher than 1.8 it wont run at full speed because the bios lowers the clock speed for some reason but my my ram is exactly 1.8 clocked at 800mhz which is perfect for this computer

thats fine my bios is also 1.1.4 as well but this computer never fails to impress me the I'm actually I can run far cry 2 completely maxed out on this computer and run skyrim on high and fallout 3/new vegas on ultra I got the Athlon x2 6400 for 50 bucks totally worth the performance boost I have mounted a fan to the back of the case and got a new copper pipe heat sink to keep the most powerful am2 processor cooled since its 125w you would need to upgrade the psu which was easy to do I must say This is a great computer and it works great for me

the little old e521 can still keep up with the big boys. i have the standered x1300 so no ultra settings for me im afraid. you should seriously consider picking up a ssd. 64Gb is the minimum you should consider. i have a 120 for my OS and other little things and the HDD i pulled out for storage. from clicking restart with some apps open to the desktop fireing up and firefox open and ready to use is like 25-30 seconds. thats without the fastest SSD on the market and no AHCI mode. im not even in RAID

Can you make a picture of your setup with open side panel? I am wondering which CPU cooler you used, since it is BTX Dell proprietary, and which fan you placed on the back panel, is it 80mm? I think you can also add 1 fan in the front of your CPU in that place in between front panel and inner frame, I also seen people placing exhaust fan on CPU heatsink as well.

hey can any of you guys guide me through adding case fans to my e521. there are no fan ports on the mobo appart from the HSF.

im about to add a 6000+ and a HD radeon 5000 family gpu so i thought i would add a fan or 2. low end gpu i know but better then the X1300 i have right now.

many thanks gents

any advice would be great. i have a AVC model DS09225b12U taken out a HP. it has a connector that has 6 holes and looks like a UK telephone cable

also im in the process of finding a new sound card with xram which I am told and slitley improve fps which is my main goal also suprsingly one of my ram sticks went bad so I have a 1gb stick in its place atm but of course my computer is a work in progess I also have my eye on the power color 7770 with the 1000mhz core clock until I find a better gpu that will fit in the case of course I should be getting another case fan in the mail today they are a pain to get in but if you do buy some make sure they come with there own screws or you probably wont be able to mount them you have to try to line up the squares with the holes on the cares fan I recomend going between the 4 screws screwing them in gradually and just keep switching until the case fan is nice and secure.
