Not sure if this counts as storage. So I have a Diablo 3 install disk I got on launch day and I used it to install the game. Fast forward to now and I want to re-install the game because I upgraded and re-installed Windows. I don't have a CD drive any more and I can't download either, I'm close to my monthly usage. I have a separate laptop that has a CD drive and when I put it in to copy over the install files to a usb, I only see the exe file and nothing else. I'm pretty there is a simple fix. I just need to copy over the files, that's all.

Solution
You need everything on the disk to actually install, i'd make an iso image from the disk using something like daemon tools, then you can also use daemon tools on the other machine to mount the iso to a virtual drive and install like it has a disk drive.

I assume you also have an internet connection? You can download the whole game from Blizzard on Battle.net. No need for a CD. The key is synced to your battle.net account, so once you activated it, it is yours forever.

I'm sure he does, but the part about "monthly usage" implies he has a limited amount of data to use, which a game download would use quite a bit of
