If a graphics card supports 2560 x 1600, will it also necessarily support 2560 x 1440?

I need a video card to support a new HP monitor. The company says: The HP ZR2740w utilizes a Direct Drive Architecture, meaning it does not have the facility of a conventional monitor to up-scale an image that is less than the Native Resolution of the ZR2740w monitor. The Native Resolution of the ZR2740w is 2560 x 1440 @ 60 Hz (16:9 aspect ratio).

However, online sales typically do not list that resolution. What I don't know is if supporting a higher resolution (like 2560 x 1600) means the card will also support 2560 x 1440. Once I determine that, I can make sure it has the right output formats (DVI dual link & Display Port).
Thanks.

If your card supports up to 1600p, then it will also support 1440p over dual link DVI and/or display port.
