On allot of games my computer with freeze. If I press CTRL+ALT+DEL and then cancel it'll usually unfreeze for a short period of time. The freezing never lasts for ever, but it does get pretty bad and it's constantly happening, making most games unplayable.

My guess is an issue with graphics card or some sort of weird software issue. I've tried updating drivers for GPU.

Any ideas on how to fix the problem? Do I have to replace my GPU?

System:

CPU: i73770
GPU: GTX 660 OC
RAM: 8GB (2X4) 1600MHz DDR3
Storage1: 120GB intel 520 SSD
Storage2: Western Digital Green 2TB WD20EARX
Case: CoolerMaster CM 690 II Advanced with Window
PSU: Antec EarthWatts 650W Green

Also, what is your current motherboard?

I don't think it is an over heating problem, after restarting Far Cry 3 for some reason I was able to play it for hours without problem. It would freeze the first time I opened it. Just not after restarting it.. Skyrim/oblivion jitters and freezers, Dungeon defenders and planet explorers just freeze, left for dead 2 works fine.

I recently updated bios, no luck. My motherboard is ASROCK H77.

I think DRAM settings are correct, my computer used to work fine and I haven't changed the settings. Most of them are set to auto.

This has been an issue for a good few months now.

I do get some sort of windows messages pop up every now and then as well. From memory they pretty much say graphics crashed and recovered (Not 100% sure on accuracy of my memory). The icon was the yellow triangle with the explanation mark inside.

Thanks for the replies guys :)

Sometimes WindowsOS PCs (due to bad drivers and software programs, not the OS itself) would start to act weird after being on for a very long time without restarting it (over a day or so), but I doubt this is it. Just thought I'd mention it.

Also, what are the windows error messages that pop up? They might explain the problem you're having.
