I have at the moment one Benq XL2411T 144Hz 1080p monitor, I am going to buy another two of these monitors so i can have a three screen setup.
The graphics card i have at the moment is a 2GB XFX HD7870, will this card be able to support three screens at 144Hz or will i have to upgrade?
If i do have to upgrade what card would be best for gaming? (preferably Nvidia because i am considering 3D Vision for games like Just Cause 2) Would i have to buy the 780ti for the best results? or would a different card do exactly what i want?

It will work but the resolution will kill your framrates with your card. You will have to play on lower settings.

For three monitor gaming you will want a 780Ti with some extra Vram (4Gb+) SLI wouldn't be a bad choice either in the future or now if the budget allows.

if you want max settings even 2 780ti's couldnt get 60fps on 5760x1080p in newer titles

this is benchmarks for 780ti

if you dont mind playing on high settings with some tweaking you may be able to get above 100 fps at that resolution

here is some benchmarks on older games with highest settings and 780's
http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/geforce_gtx_780_sli_review,23.html

the ti version only has around a 15% gain over the 780s

and then there is the issue with only 3gb of vram. i would wait for maxwell since it is supposed to have more vram with a performance increase.

Where would I look for a 4GB+ version of the 780ti? All I can seem to find is 3GB models.

Sorry that was my bad they never released it instead making it the Titan Black (forgot there was never a 4gb version in the middle). You would still really need a pair of them for the best settings and framerates. The 800 series might be a good wait for you in that it might at least drop the cost of those cards.

I have pretty close setup to you: 2xasus hd7870 in crossfire running eyefinity 5760x1080@144hz on 3x144hz monitors,
In Battlefield 4 custom settings (textures on med) I get 70-100 fps on most maps bar a few that fps drops to 60. For less demanding or older games you can get 144fps with the setup but for the newer more demanding games you will need something better if you want to run details on high or get 144fps.

Having said that the hd7870 crossfired is good enough for eyefinity at 60hz.

But I am eventually going to upgrade the cards and was also thinking nvidia since my screens support the 3d vision. I am curious to know what you end up with and how it performs? and what port availability/types you have on the card.

*** note you have to be using the new AMD beta driver 14.11.1 or later in order to get all 3 screens at 144hz, and preferably use native connections (dp to dp/mini dp to dp/dvi to dvi) Do not use hdmi as it is limited to 60hz. If you need to go DP/mini dp to dvi then it has to be an "active dual link" adapter that supports 144hz so double check you available ports on you card and monitors before committing to any purchases. DP or mini dp is always a better choice if available.
