Hello folks. I've never gotten an SSD before. People have been telling me that it helps alot with computer boot up time, games, and other apps. Question are:

>How do I know which will work with my PC?

>Will it work with my current HDD?

>Any difficulty installing one?

A bunch of question, I know. When it comes to installing new hardwear I gotta act clueless so I don't miss a beat. My price range would be between $100 to $150, but any suggestion are welcomed too.
Another question would be instaling windows 7 on it, which is already pre-installed on the computer, but I'll figure that out. Haha~

the samsung drives have the best firmware and the 256g drive will give you room for the os and a few games and os.
with ssd you have to leave room for it to wear level. if you fill a ssd to full it slows down.
with ssd and motherboards it depends on the age of the motherboard and the chipset on the mb.
the older chipset will let the drive run but not at it max speed. check that you have the newer x58-x87 chipset for the intel mb if it an amd mb look on there web page see if the mb has sata 6g ports.
the drive itself only has two plugs a data port and a power port and there keyed and sized. you cant mix them up.
check your case to see if it has hard drive mounting for 2.5 inch...

if not you have to buy a small adaptor plate.

you also have to buy a sata data cable if there none open in the case.
after you plug the drive in all you do is set the bios to boot from windows 7 disk and then run the installer and install windows 7 on the ssd. if there data on the hard drive you want to keep unplug the hard drive data cable for safty.
when you reinstall windows you have to reinstall all your games and aps. with ssd the trick is place the games or aps that you use a lot on the ssd and the non used games installed onto the slower hard drive.

It also depends on how old your computer is. If still using pata then the selection will be literally none existent(well extremly limited).

1.) As for will it work don't know need your PC specs.
2.) Well see 1 need more information to answer that
3.) Not really assuming not pata, you need a SATA cable and Sata power cable, then you gotta decide if you want to clone or clean install windows/your os.
